Title: been on the to do list
Post by: Mic on April 10, 2012, 07:04:17 am
Hi All
Can I play?

I looked at this game/world a couple of years ago and was interested but could not convince anyone else to give it a go. Anyway I have decided to go it alone and buy the rules and some other stuff.
The mini line has sure expanded since i looked last and the world looks fantastic excellent work Michael
Now where do I start miniature wise?
All the minis look great!
looking at two small forces to start with
I like the look of the Delgon

Regards Mic

Well there are the starter sets, that's a good place to begin. There are two sizes and contain everything you need to start playing, with a force of Devanu and Fubarnii of the Empire, except the usual gaming accessories (tape measure, terrain paint, glue etc). They form a good basis to expand from as well.

Small Set: http://store.pyre-studios.com/epages/es139783.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es139783/Products/WOT001 (http://store.pyre-studios.com/epages/es139783.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es139783/Products/WOT001)
Large Set: http://store.pyre-studios.com/epages/es139783.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es139783/Products/WOT000 (http://store.pyre-studios.com/epages/es139783.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es139783/Products/WOT000)

In the meantime you can download the rule book for free from the site.

Hope this helps! :D

Welcome aboard!

As an also recent newcomer to Twilight, I definitely recommend the starter kits.  They're good value and start you off well with both Devanu and Empire fubarnii.  I see you mentioned Delgon, and while it's a bummer that they're not in the starter set it's really quite easy and affordable to throw together a comparably-sized small force of Delgon fubarnii so that you'll have a bit of everything.  This is exactly what I did, and I'm pretty happy with my armies.

Good idea stormbringer
I will order a starter set for sure just pondering over the other minis
Like the trader and beasts, the herders and the light cavaly I think a force of just these would be cool

Hi mic, welcome!
Glad you like what you've seen so far.  :)
I've been thinking through a few basic starter forces that I'm planning to post shortly - everything does get rather manic in the run up to salute though!
As loath as I am to suggest you delay ordering, there might be a couple of useful army deals appearing in the next couple of weeks that might be good for you.

A belated welcome from me to. The new force packs work out well, both for cost and gaming so you cant go far wrong! what's more, the new packaging looks great too!
