Beth asked me to pop up some sketches she emailed over ...
so i did (helpful huh?)
Personally I'm loving the last critter and his funky legs (my son says he looks like a Bob!).
I am sure Beth will be along shortly to tell you all about them - i dont even know their names - so DO NOT ASK ME!

The last one is SO CUTE.
(It probably eats babies, doesn't it, now I've said that).

No, it doesn't eat babies. The first one might if any happened to crawl within range.
The first one is informally known as Cthulu. It is a very simple creature, symmetrical all round. The bit that looks like a mouth at the front isn't really the front, it has them all the way round and can retract and close them. It sits around on beaches with the big shell to protect it and doesn't really move, but if something comes close it will grab it with a tentacle and stuff it in an orifice. Then it will digest it in its squishy insides and excrete though another of the multi-purpose orifices. It's not too fussy. The tide goes in and out over it. It can regrow severed tentacles. It's about 2 feet across so the Fubarnii like to use the big shells as, well, all sorts of things; bowls, musical instruments, decorative items - they polish up really shiny. Probably native to the Casani coastline.
The second one lives in caves in mountainous regions, mostly in the Delgon terrritory. It is occasionally known as Wigbat. It is a glider; it climbs up cave walls, sucking up slime and garkrid (insects), then glides down again. It has no eyes, but the long hairs are proximity sensors. It may also have some echolocation - it makes strange whooping noises, which are rather scary. Body is about the size of a cat with wingspan of a couple of metres.
The last one is known as Smeagol, but Bob will also do. It is vegetarian, but somewhat frog-like in other respects. Maybe the size of a toad rather than a frog. Lives in swamps, doesn't taste nice (I believe there are some swamps just up the coast from Gar Loren). Sometimes Jenta will keep them as pets but adults don't bother; they're not particularly useful, friendly or interesting. Unless you're a crazy old engineer who just has a thing for them, then you probably have tanks full.

Or shields for the casani tribes?

Sounds like the start of a chemical warfare factory?
Thanks for the details Bethar!!

He he excellent.
First one would make an excellent little critter as is. The last one I would be tempted to change the toes and fingers into sucker type digits, kinda tree froggish. Middle one is freaking me out lol.

Forgot to say, thanks Brandlin for being my tech support while Gethuch is skiving off being someone else's tech support.
Shield - possibly, if it's not too heavy or brittle. I don't really know the material properties of shell-like substance, but I guess if it's good defence for the creature it could be good defence for a Fubarnii.
Yes, the wigbat and cthulu were largely designed to freak people out. I did also do some more ordinary-looking critters, will show them at some point.

Yes, thanks Brandlin. I wasn't exactly skiving, but I was away.

They're well outside the clade than most of the Twilight creatures you've seen so far belong to. Except for the Smeagol/Bob.
