Title: Hello
Post by: Bethar on May 05, 2010, 11:31:50 pm
Hello!  I'm Beth, you may have seen me on the Twilight stand at Salute, looking short and confused.  Mike (Carcharoth) introduced me to Twilight about, um, six or seven years ago?  I don't really play the game but I have helped write some of the fluff for the world.  I'm currently working (slowly) on a guide to Fubarnii life and society, which will go up on the website to help people who want to stick close to canon to find out some of the finer details about the wider context of the game.  Please ask questions.  We probably haven't figured out the answers yet, but keep asking!  And of course, if you don't want to stick to canon, that's fine too!  ;)

Hi Beth  :)

I'm here too  ;D

Real name's Simon, I'm the one with the alternate colour forces  ;)
I like to pester Mike over email and he usually asks me loads of questions.......he got me to playtest the
scenario used at Salute which was awesome!  It's great to help shape a game and its world  ;D

I love everything about the Devanu and can't wait till Mike shows me some rules for Arak Katain   ;D

p.s.  hi Alan   :)

Eeek! I didn't realise Mike was going to "release" this forum on the FoD yet! I guess I'd better set about properly linking it into the WoT website...

Oh, and welcome, all!   :D

Please feel free to send me any suggestions or complains about the forum - it's the first one I've built, so I'm sure there will be lessons to be learned!

Sorry, I got a bit over-excited...
I've not even done a proper introduction yet... Sorry!

Eh, that's ok - so long as people realise it's still quite "beta"!

I do feel the need for a little "under construction" gif, with a Fubarnii swinging a pickaxe...

Should I dig out my old sketches of Fubarnii warmachines, and post them up there?

But maybe they would lend themselves to laser etching...

Yay, Mrs.Carcaroth is the Blue Penguin of Doom! :D

And I suspect the warmachines would suit laser-etching reasonably well. At least they're not cylindrical!

Talking of laser cutting...l I had this fancy idea of taking the Twilight Map and some thin plywood and engraving the topography on multiple layers... so you could build a huge relief map to run campaign games on. But then I thought no. Not only would it be outrageously expensive but there'd be big blank areas with no names or detail on them sigh...

Still it'd be a cool but pointless thing to do!

PS : I can't believe Mike gave his charming wife the title "Development Team!" ... bad man.

Hmmm, not sure about that as a title, maybe Tom should be something more interesting too? Also, shouldn't Brandlin be "Chief Pringles Purchaser"?

Chief Pringle Wrangler!  ;D

It's feeling like a banana republic 'round here with everyone having titles! Lol!

Hey! I happen to like it down here; it's nice and warm, and the people are friendly! Think thats a quote from somewhere but can't remember!

I should warn you though, I have the game "Junta" and I know how to use it, lol!
