Wow. Beautiful.
Thank you
Top right; is that a devanu jenta?
Nope, it's a more primitive species that I think lives in some of the forests. It is similar in relation to the devanu as a chimp would be to us.
The middle row right beast also stands out for me.
That would be a grimblar - a big nasty that rarely ventures out from the forests. I've got an old sculpt of him, but some day I'll rework him (probably in a couple of years as I've got a plan that would involve him).
You have a really cohesive style going on.
Thanks, I've tried very hard to maintain that. Warren (Vermis) designed a bunch of the creatures which I then messed around with until they felt right.
It'd be nice to see which ones are used by the Fubarnii, which commonly interact with each other, etc.
That is something I will have to have a go at! Most of the creatures have a fair bit of back story to them, but it might take some remembering! These are also a random cross section of beasts from across Anyaral, so many would never interact at all, unless in a Fubarnii zoo... The other thing to note is that this is far from comprehensive! I've not included any flying beasts, or even the scavenger that Mark sculpted.
I can see the enuks, but I wonder whether the Fubarnii would ride on something so as large as the bottom row second from left.
Fubarnii of the Empire wouldn't tend to ride those, but they are a favoured mount of the Ferals. The beast in the middle of the bottom row is occasionally used as a mount by some of the clans along the western coast of Anyaral.
I really like the Larger barak styled beasts as well.
I think you are referring to the Belan. One of the first scenarios I wrote involved a trader with his big Belan packbeast trying to get home (I've still got the original model). It was a bit impractical to recreate him in metal, but one of my plans for this year is to do a resin belan packbeast.
Did you recently sculpt the middle row furthest left?
Yup, that would be the Yirnak. I'm currently working on a rider for it.
Are any of the other creatures drawn here sentient?
Nope, Fubarnii scholars are only aware of three sentient species - the Fubarnii, the Devanu and the Enarii/Belog.
