Thanks all!! Really enjoying the incentive of the challenge.
The Engu are here. Not entirely happy with the pet, but I've never had a clear idea of what I want to do with that piece
As usual, please excuse the dodgey ipad photo until I get a chance to do proper ones next weekend! Can't really be seen here, but like someone mentioned on Serins' post, they have a definite Native American feel to their dress, and I went ahead and did a little simple geometric dot patterning on the main guys tabard - couldn't resist!

They look great, but I think they would have looked even better with an appropriate base. Like the wooden deck of a ship for example.
The Tahela looks a bit too blue, perhaps you can drybrush his mane with white.
Just my opinion though.
Their clothing looks superb by the way.

You're sure blasting through these, the only thing I'd say is that the bases look to 'warm' especially as they're wearing furs and the furry one is blue and usually this would offer some form of camouflage. Don't get me wrong though, cracking job on them.

Thanks for the CC guys.
I've decided that all my WoT minis are being based the same, for all the races, so they don't look disjointed in larger games acting as allies and such (and so the beasts can operate with any force). However, that does lead me to the issues you point out which were present on the delgon, but far more so here - these guys are designed for harsher climates!
As I said, I've never been clear in my mind with the Telahn, and ended up with just a slightly greyer version than joe's studio paint job. I thus did the Engu's main furs to match.
Mike - is there any premise for the Telahn having cousins in the warmer climbs, coloured more like wolves or some such? I.e. Could I get away with changing them to yet more browns, like I did the skerrats?
Really appreciate your input guys - many thanks!

Whilst, as explained above, this will not be happening for my combat forces, I really like this idea for a single piece..... Especially since I subscribe to the sprockets world blog who's currently working on this.....

Now, I'll never be anything like as good as Dave is at display pieces, but doing a one off Enugan captain in a piece like this could be a lot of fun!!

Fair enough
.
This was just the first time the base bothered me on your miniatures.
Probably because of the same reason Crucium Giger mentioned.
I still think they look very good though.
Visually they are my least favorite faction, but you painted them in such a way they suddenly became very appealing.

Love your Engu, now I'm a bit sad I didn't get them for myself.
Also I agree on the incentive of the challenge, really helps someone paint more
A little deadline always helps with minis

Great Engu - good subdued colours. I agree with you, Tuffskull about the bases. All of my bases for the different races are pretty consistent and I have not really gone for specialised bases for different clans, etc.

Slann - you're earning a fair few twilight points through the challenge yourself, so maybe put them towards an Engu force
Looks like my challenge will have to remain as it stands, crummy ipad photos and all, for February. Delgon specialists, delgon striders and Engu force - does that count as two large and one small???
I'll get better pics sorted tomorrow!
