Title: My World of Twilight miniatures
Post by: Lixa on June 16, 2015, 03:24:24 pm
Last weekend we presented "World of twilight" at the "convention day" . I had one week to paint my Devanu Force ;D

I chosed a colorfull Color scheme, It's may be far from the devanu's Background ...

I took inspiration from parrots.  Grishak's head  make me thinking to this bird. When I choose a colorful color scheme,  it's always better when it's reproducing from real animals.

The parrots, aras and parkeets sure a great inspiration source. There even are a lot more coulour combinations out there.
I also love the bases. Where are the flowers made from?

As above - would never have dreamed of doing a scheme like this myself, but you really do make it work. They look superb as a group - great job!

They look really good, like the totally different approach on the color scheme. Also the detailing on the bases is awesome, what did you use for this little flowers?

Looking forward to the Delgon :D

cheers

Those are definitely eye-catching! Very nicely painted and based (I'd also like to know more about the flowers), even if they aren't quite how I originally imagined them  :)

These look great, they really stand out. The paint jobs are good too, nice smooth colour transitions. I like the little plants detailing the base too, what are they?

I use an aibrush in very simple way. It is more located basecoat than precise gradient
A quick step by step, I use two yellow: vallejo 70 915 and vallejo 72 038

I bought it in japan when I was  exchange student in architecture and i don't know the name :-\
On the label it's written ソフトミニカスミ草 (google it )

With my poor japanese skill, I read ソフトミニカスミ草 sofuto minikasumi草 maybe something like : Kasumi grass

I took a picture of mine :

Google says:
Soft mini Kasumi-Gras, let's see where I can get that :D

Edit:
I was looking for pics, no chance there, only some DoA pics :P apparently there is a character with that name...
We'll, let's keep using local stuff :(

Thank you for the tutorial! Unfortunately my airbrush skill are almost non-existant, but yours look great.
I sure explains how you got the colour transistion that smooth ;).
I will try to get some of the grass from a local retailer. Perhaps I can find some in the Asian shop in Antwerp.
