Title: World of Twilight now available at Pyre Studios!
Post by: Carcharoth on June 02, 2011, 09:58:37 pm
I am excited to announce that World of Twilight has branched out with a new stockist – Pyre Studios.  :)

Pyre Studios is a small webstore owned by Darren Barber that is specialising in interesting skirmish scale games and it seems like a natural home for Twilight. Darren also won me over by painting a large number of Fubarnii Herders for the demo game at Salute!

Pyre now stocks most of the range, including a couple of new releases that have only been available directly until now. The new releases include 'Of Gods and Demons' (the second book), and the Belan (the first resin model in the range). Check out the range here (http://store.pyre-studios.com/Twilight).

That is fantastic news. Pyre studios looks great, and I'm thinking of moving to Edinburgh in a couple of years, so that makes it even better!

Afternoon all.

I'm really excited about carrying Twilight. We started chatting about the possibility of this at the start of the year and the only thing holding it up was getting my blasted store up and running. If you encounter anyone who tells you setting up/running a webstore is easy they have no idea what they are talking about ... get an axe.

We're also announcing today that we have leased space in a "real world" LGS, Black Lion Games in Edinburgh. A limited number of Twilight products will be on show there from Saturday the 11th June.

... I wonder if they ship to the US?

Yeah we can ship anywhere in the world

good to see twilight branch out And from what I've been reading pyre seemed the logical choice

This is the nicest thing I think someone could have said at this early stage, thank you.

And before you ask Mike, yes... I am quite hung-over and my possibly have given myself Gin-Lupus

Yup, it'll be opening on the 11th of June. I posted the details on TGN yesterday. http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/2011/06/03/47140/ (http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/2011/06/03/47140/)

I'm trying to get everything sorted for it. Hmm… I wonder can I claim the tax back on a tank of oxygen  :)

Quick queston: do the knights units you have for sale have old or new style spears? The picture has old style, but i would guess they're actually new style.

Hi! I've been reading everything I can find about Twilight for three days now - I love the miniatures, but I am still undecided how I'm going to buy them.
I wanted to suggest adding links to Pyre Studios' shop to Twilight's website; I don't remember anymore how I found out that I could also buy minis from them, and I think it'd be great for newcomers to be able to choose between the offers of both shops. Besides, Pyre's shop has much more color...

Hi Forge!
Pyre is definitely a good place to start with purchases. Both HF and pyre are excellent stores run by very nice people, but at the moment pyre are a bit more efficIent with new releases.
I will add pyre to the main site, we are just having one or two issues getting an update at the moment as the web master is off travelling...
You should drop by the intros section and introduce yourself properly!

@Forge: I too give a thumbs up for Pyre's store... very pleased with the orders I've made through him. :)

its good to see twilight in another store, i did notice pyre have stated earlier in this thread that shipping world wide would only be two pounds, now ive looked on pyres website, its a nice site but uk standard shipping costs 1.67, now im not a geniusbut i fail to understand why uk shipping costs nearly as much shipping world wide, now this isn't an attempt to moan and begrudge, i understand that this is all business, but when you look at the vast amount of online stores out there selling minis for example maelstromgames which offer free shipping on orders over ten pounds, now times are harsh i look at things like shipping very carefully as i want the most for my money, right now i have my eye on the fubarnii elder which is a very reasonable 4 pounds now add shipping on comes to 5.67 which is nearly a a half of his price added, now again im not having a go im more likely to wait for salute 2012 to come around, then make the purchase now, which is what we all want, so my point and question is if shipping was cheaper , wouldnt people buy more?  from my own humble opinion, i would be more likely to purchase more and more often which puts money in everyones pocket and allows the genius of carcharoth to carry on creating more of his superb models

I guess considering how new this game is and that pyre studios is a small company ( i think) They might not be able to afford to give people free posting on small orders of £4.00
I also feel that using maelstrom is a bad example as they are a behemoth of a game store and make enough money to deliver that kind of offer ( free postage/money back) probably on the back of GW sales alone.
I dont ind spending the money. I was kinda expecting it with this sort of indy style game. Just think of yourself as a pioneer of the game, Sure you have to spend a few extra quid but isn't it worth it to be there from the beginning? :D

Just to clarify a couple of points. 1) I agree that the elder engineer is an awesome miniature.  2) ... ;D

Seriously though, the £2 shipping offer mentioned was for pre-orders only it doesn't apply to regular sales. Regular international shipping for the miniature would be £2.80. I hope that resolves the confusion.

Megatron pretty much hit the nail on the head there with his reply. My own response would go a bit deeper into things like company ethos, business models, devaluation of the hobby, economies of scale, range of choice etc... Out of respect for Mike and his creation though I'll hold my tongue...

I'm not allergic to making money however so I'm sorry to lose the sale ;)

it is an awesome model, now i understand the ethics of business, but what it comes down to is trickle feed, do you keep a product price lower and sell more of an item or keep price high and sell less, i think for me personally having found this system, i want as many people to find it as i have and that for me is down to market saturation, now i think mikes prices are very reasonable, my point was the postage and packing is not, range of choice is high and thats why you need to do something to stand out....!
