It's a little kickstarter to get a new Traveller into print :) Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: The Slann on September 17, 2017, 08:54:51 am And, to beat Mike again to it.
IT'S FUNDED!!! :D Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: serin on September 23, 2017, 05:49:41 pm All seems to be going well ;)
Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: Carcharoth on September 24, 2017, 10:00:35 am It has been going well! The one week timescale gives it a very different feel - I'm sure there are lots of people I'm forgetting to get back to... Hopefully they'll forgive me!
Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: Kryptovidicus on September 24, 2017, 10:58:21 am It sure is a successful campaign given the scope of this kickstarter.
But is is great to see how the addition of a starter set has drawn in new players. Yes, it is always great to see new players getting enthusiastic! I'm glad the Traveller stood up on its on merits though, and that I can do a nice big print run straight off the bat :)But is is great to see how the addition of a starter set has drawn in new players. Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: Carcharoth on September 24, 2017, 08:18:55 pm We've got just over 24 hours to go! We've released loads of bits and pieces, so it's worth having a look if you haven't already :)
Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: Halcyon on September 26, 2017, 04:12:11 pm I am looking forward to getting the stats and cards for the new models and hopefully cards for some of the older ones, like the unridden Yirnak and Onseger. :)
Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: Carcharoth on September 27, 2017, 07:22:17 am Yay, it was a success :)
@Halcyon: I may have to do a individual run of yirnak and onsegar cards, just to keep you happy even I can't fit them in the main deck... So, what should their rules look like? Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: Danger Frog on September 28, 2017, 12:21:43 pm Why stop at just a run of those two (both of which I'd also very much like to have), you could do a mini deck of the various beasts that are without rules/cards? I'm sure some of us would be willing to stump up some pre-order money to cover costs...
I'm not even sure you'd need to balance them and add points costs as they're mainly going to be used for scenario play and the cards would just be for easy reference and to make sure that beasts remain consistent from scenario to scenario. Having said that I'd really like to be able to take a Yirnak alongside my Dhogu trapper for a bit of added punch. Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: Kryptovidicus on September 28, 2017, 07:57:27 pm Do the Yirnak babies get cards? I love to field them as a family for a Delgon/Dhogu hunting scenario.
Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: Carcharoth on September 29, 2017, 10:06:08 am Of course the yartain babies will get cards :)
Would a beasts deck go down well? Cards are expensive to produce, so I'm not sure they would be economical. Some fun promo cards would be cool though... Cards come in decks of 18, so I'll have to see exactly how many beasts I would need to do! Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: Halcyon on September 29, 2017, 04:32:40 pm @Halcyon: I may have to do a individual run of yirnak and onsegar cards, just to keep you happy even I can't fit them in the main deck... So, what should their rules look like? Well as you asked... I can't claim suggesting the Yirnak, as that was Graham Lewis on the latest KS, but I did follow his lead and suggest the Onsegar. :) I have worked backwards from the Yirnak Rider in the rulebook and tried to remove the stat increases and abilities that the rider added and came up with the following... Yirnak Points: 25-30 ? Move: 8 Combat: 2 Support: 0 Tough: 4+ Stamina: 0 Size: Medium Command Range: 6” Pack (1) [L] Charge (2)[A] Powerful Charge [T] Ranger [T] I added the Pack ability as I imagine them as a herd animal similar to a Yak. Likewise I have worked backwards from Seh'Ban Steyar to create an unridden Onsegar... Onseger Points: 100 Move: 10 Combat: 4 Support: 0 Tough: 3+ Stamina: 2 Size: Large Command Range: 6” Charge (1)[A] Ferocity* [C] Pounce (3)[C] Powerful [C] Aggressive [T] Proud [T] Wild Animal [T] Very Tough* [S] I added Ferocity and Wild Animal to reflect that it's wilder undomesticated nature and Proud to stop Beast Handlers controlling large packs of them. (Which I just felt would be wrong). As they are quite Lion like I also thought Proud was a suitable ability for such a noble beast. I am not too sure on the points so have just made my best guess. :) What does everyone think ? Title: Re: New Kickstarter Post by: Danger Frog on September 29, 2017, 10:29:57 pm I can't claim suggesting the Yirnak, as that was Graham Lewis on the latest KS, but I did follow his lead and suggest the Onsegar. :) That was me :-) I think those rules seem pretty much spot on and would make both interesting options for list building or as the basis for scenarios. Mike: How many of us would you need to buy a deck to make it worthwhile? I think if you asked there'd be quite a few of us that'd want a deck. By my reckoning the list for a deck is: Yirnak Onsegar Abrok Elroga Enuk Nobilis Erillai Garkrid Garkrid Queen Garkrid Eggs Garkrid Young Hadera + anything other that's yet to be released or odd scenario bits like the logging wagon. |
