Title: Just to clarify
Post by: Megatron0 on April 18, 2011, 07:57:37 pm
If a model has a combat action before it takes its standard action then it can no longer be activated that round. Is that correct?

When a combat stone is drawn models that are engaged have the opportunity to perform one action, either starting a combat or supporting one. If they have to defend, they then get no further action that combat phase, but may defend more than once. (page 8 ) Fighting in a combat doesn't actually activate you.

A normal activation from a normal activation counter is different - they result in the model actually being activated, and as such may not activate again in a turn, but they may still perform their actions, if required, in either combat phase. (page 7)

Hope that helps.

What does defend mean in game? I cant find any other reference to it then in that paragraph (page 8) does defend just mean support?

Defend means when the opposing player selects your model to attack - the selected unfortunate is defending. When a combat stone is drawn, the preceeding activation counter dictates who is the attacker (so if Devanu went last, they have the initiative). The player who doesn't have the initiative is the defending player.

Ahhh I completely understand. So when you lose your activation it simply means that a model cannot defend from an attack and then initiate one.
But you can innitiate one then defend from one correct?

That is correct - as long as you get to attack first, defending a lot afterwards carries no drawback (aside from the whole potential dying thing...)
