Danakan isn't really an engineer, although you could use him as such...
I'm trying to decide how to do his arms - one option is to retain the joint that Mark did on his civilians, making it possible to swap his arms over and opening up a few more options. The only concern there is that it might distract slightly from how he looks...

I like the idea of a multi part set. But keep 'em unique! That's what I say

So that's a yes to interchangeable parts, but no cheating and reusing existing arms?

Cheating is perfectly fine with me - the result is still a new model and if time is saved then we can get our hands on them quicker. Win/win.

The plan in my mind was to have a universal shoulder joint but each figure has their own arms. That way the arms can match the look of the figure they are specifically for but will also fit the other models if people so wish.
I think the aesthetics of the Fubarnii clothing help making a noticable joint for the shoulder. Leather vests over bare arms or puffed sleeves etc/ Little shoulder pads. That sort of thing.

Anyone obsessed and knowledgeable enough in a single area can be classed an 'Engineer'. Wink

Not actually true... Sorry!
A fubarnii engineer has quite a distinctive way of thinking and outlook on life and is not just the product of training - an engineer is effectively born an engineer and a non-engineer cannot become one. I guess they are effectively diagnosed by their future masters who then apprentice them and train them up in whatever they fancy.
You could of course have an explorer engineer, but he would probably be dressed more scruffily than Danakan...

That's interesting, so engineers are more like a caste, rather then a profession?

Not a caste - an engineer could emerge from any social background. Their minds are just wired differently, which can probably either be seen as a gift or a curse. The fubarnii of the empire embrace it. The Delgon don't tend to get engineers for some reason. I've not spent so much time studying the casani, but I imagine their engineers are seen more as mystics or witch doctors.

Is the pain still raw? Wink

Don't worry, it's just that they are a bit crazy (but in a good way).

Fair doos, guess I was quite mistaken then. I can't even remember where I thought I'd read that snippet. Always good to learn more about Twilight thoughh, and makes me want to go back and expand upon Clan Orelan. Hmm.

Sounds cool. I could imagine them obsessed with the relationship between things and the effects that causes.
