After all the chaos in the run-up to Salute I think it is about time for another contest. I'm going to run a 'tale of' style painting challenge as well, but in the meantime...

Twilight is populated by many weird and wonderful characters, but only a handful have made it into the formal histories so far. Your challenge (should you choose to accept it) is to create a new memorable character for Twilight. He could be an arrogant noble or a scheming dhogu, a noble knight or even a proud devanu - if he fits in the world then the only limit is your imagination! You can even try to invent an enarii if you like, but I'd be very very picky when judging that one! ;-)

You can present your character however you like, be it as a biography, a story, a sketch, a model or a sculpt. I will take my favourite entries, tweak them, sketch them and integrate them into the world. I'll then open those shortlisted entries up to a public vote.

The designers of the shortlisted characters will each get £10 of models (5 twilight points). The public vote winner will get £20 of models (10 twilight points). I will also choose at least one of the short-listed characters to sculpt - this may not be the winner of the public vote, but rather the one that inspires me most. If I choose to sculpt your figure then you will get a couple of the master castings.

The deadline for entries is the end of May, giving you a few weeks to think! As always you can share your ideas on the forum. You can even get feedback during the process if you want to post your ideas on the forum. I'll share details on entry submission later in the process.

So, what do you all think?

Looks a great idea. Is there an age limit? My son (who is 10) got me into Twilight and I would think he would like to have a go at creating a character.
So, can I anter a character and my son enter one, or is there a limit?

No limits or restrictions - anybody can have a go.
Have a look at the creature contest entries and the final voting thread if you want to see the way the last contest panned out.

The design a clan thread is still open if anybody wants to play - that wasn't just run as a contest so people could have a play at any time.

Going to take some pondering on how best to present all the ideas. Hmm.

As Serin suggested in another thread, the Ramblings about naming conventions would be quite a useful resource. You can of course make up names yourself, or derive something from your forum name, but it might provide inspiration.
The various clans that people have designed are also free game - don't worry about treading on toes, but do try to work your ideas in with the existing world  Smiley
