Thanks guys for all your comments !

So, last day for the landscapes competition ! Mine is sadly not finished, but here is an update:

The construction is finished and undercoated:

(Here i have to add stairs)

Some stuff is still already painted though:

Mike, were you traumatized by Timon and Pumbaa ?  Grin

And i have all these accessories sent by Mike (thanks to you again !) to add:

What i still have to do:
paint the building, of course
add a flag on the mast on the top
do the base: sand, flocks, grass, etc
finish to paint and glue the accessories
Build wooden stairs to put on the rear of the largest building.

Stay tuned !

It's an absolute beauty! Can't wait to see it finished.
As for timon and puumba? Traumatised or inspired by? (Although I would have to ask mark - he takes credit for the plates of good!)

Wow, very impressive and with the images you see how straightforward construction can net great results. I also second Mike's support with bits for modellers - really thankful for his gifts to my collection.

I've posted the same images in the scenery comp thread, that's why you have a felling of déjà vu Wink

Well, here comes the weekly update !
I sadly begin to get bored with this project, it takes me more time than expected at the beginning. In that state, the scenery is playable, but i still have many things to do ! So i have to hang on !

Many more pics here (with minis especially):

And to compare with the concept sketch. Quite close, so i'm satisfied of the result Smiley

Quite simply the most wonderfully crafted twilight terrain I've seen.
Well done persevering, it really is worth it and I want to see it finished!

very nice tower. I showed it to the people at the game store today and they were also impressed!   Cheesy  that's some inspiring work.

did you just apply paint directly over the sandpaper walls, or did you treat them in any way first?

No particular treatment, just a black base coating, and then classic brush painting + washes.

Well, I'm persevering, the end is near !
So let's go for some more WIPs !

I've glued few pieces of maritime pine bark, normally used in flower beds in the garden. Then I've textured around them with a product called here "rebouch'bois", which has a perfect granularity:

After that I continue the texturing work on the base:

And the first layer of paint (poor photos !)

What is this little hole ?  Wink

And the beginning of the little tree !

Bye !
