Hi all,

I have finally managed to paint up the first of the WoT minis I picked up at Salute this year, yay!

Behold the Elroga...

This little lady was fun to paint. I got the scheme from a loovar from Zelda Phantom Hourglass which my son and I have been playing a lot of fairly recently. For anyone who doesn't know a loovar is a medium sized fish you can catch when sailing at sea. I fancied using this colour combo as its quite striking.

A striking vivid colourscheme. I would have put a pupil in that eye though, just to make him look more alive

Thanks, I may well do that Kryptovidicus. Cheesy

I have another Twilight critter to show...

No idea where the colour combo came from I just had an urge to use that green with black. It felt like it was missing something so I gave her a red stripe to Jazz things up...maybe it will help her run faster Cheesy

The red stripe makes it look like a tropical bird of a fish and totally makes sense to me.
A great paintjob you did on him, alien and at the same time familiar.

Thanks guys Cheesy

It will be the Yartain next.

I still fancy making an Engu dwelling but we will (hopefully) be moving soon so that's likely gunna have to wait a while.

An Engu dwelling sounds like a great project.
Will it be a longhouse or more something like a Yurt?

I was thinking of a lone tower on the rocks much like the little sketch Mike did. Though making a small coastal scene would be very cool I don't have the time or a place to show it off.

I do quite like the idea of making a small fishing vessel too but that's gunna be much more involved.

Behold...the Yartain...

I'm sure it will come as no surprise that I based my painting of this guy on the old Star Wars Wompa toy Cheesy

Apart from the initial coat and wash this guy was painted in a single night, I don't think I've painted something so quickly for ages. Before I started my plan was very hazy but once I started it just flowed so well. I'm definitely happy with how he turned out.

Thanks Mike, I couldn't resist blooding him up. Cheesy

I must say the rest of the Yartain family look very cool and the jenta look very cute.

Seems like part of my text went missing.
How did you manage to get the fresh red blood around his beak?
Fantastic painting!
