Just wanted to say a quick g'day and introduce myself.

I am one of those old gamers (got started in wargaming as a young lad in 1982) who has thrown away a fortune to those big games companies over the years. Back in the 80's most games (fantasy based especially) were really developing and exploring new frontiers and the minature sculpting went ahead in leaps and bounds. Now the pattern seems to be  producing fantasy miniatures that are bigger and more expensive each month with a bag of new rules designed to sell miniatures rather than for game balance.

It was so refreshing to find this game site where the main focus seems to be about creativity and originality with enough fluff to keep the old RPG'er in me happy. Hoping to get my game club interested since we are currently taking a break from the more commercial stuff and trying all sorts of alternative games.

I immediately got sucked in and sent off an order for a bag full of miniatures from HF straight away  Smiley Now I just need to wait for the airmail to bring me my goodies so I can get painting...its a long way from the UK to here.

I'm more of a painter and modeller than a gamer (can't wait to order one of those Belan and use my airbrush on it) so I hope you guys won't mind me converting the stuff I get (thinking the knights as they are my favourites atm). From reading the forum it seems the Fubarnii clans are a diverse lot.

Anyway, looking forward to discussing stuff in the future as things seem quite friendly around here. BTW I don't know why, but reading about all the background made me want to watch the Dark Crystal again lol.

I got to the point where I couldnt prime a figure unless it had been converted to some degree. Must have been the sculptor in me itching to get out.   Tongue

1982 eh? About the same time as me. I always liked the slightly amateur products like judges guild Where the background was sketchy and you had to use your imagination to fill in the gaps... Like rune quest... Just why were we questing for runes???

Welcome.
