One of the oddities of the interweb, and especially blogs is that things you publish turn up in a lot of strange places.

I was looking at the sites that have referred traffic to my blog to see where i should continue to pimp and i cam across this site in germany

http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=bf-home&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.brueckenkopf-online.com%2F%3Fp%3D16468&lp=de_en&btnTrUrl=Translate

with what i think is a debate about the fact that my kits are too expensive, and whether the wood texture is painted or cut, and whether gluing things to a pringles tube makes the whole kit rubbish?

Well germany isn't so far away ... what about venesuala?

and of course america...

http://www.thehogsofwar.com/2010/05/laser-cut-fantasy-terrin.html

and a bit closer to home...

http://www.wamp-forum.com/VB4/showthread.php?2644-Clever-scenery!

I really love the idea that people have picked up on my idea and it is being shown in other places and that they like it! Grin Grin Grin

what i detest is the (admittedly small) number of self appointed experts there seem to be about whether my models are any good from people who to the best of my knowledge have never seen them.  Roll Eyes Cry Undecided Huh

Why do people post questions on sites like these though? There must be an assumption that the owner of the subject in question knows the referring article has been published?  Huh

Isn't the interwebby-thingummy cool!  Grin

Awesome! Does annoy me when people spout off about things they have no idea about... come the end of the month you'll be able to point them to my review though.  Grin

Wow, what have you started, lol! Looks like the american guys think there's a few of you, lol!

Seriously though, it just goes to show that when you put something onto the internet, you do lose some control over it. But it does look like the majority of the comments are positive and have no idea about Twilight, lol!

There is something great about seeing your stuff mentioned elsewhere - the same has happened with Twilight a few times and it always makes me smile Smiley
There are always plenty of people who will mouth off though, so best just to ignore them.

How did you plot  this? Could Mike do something similar with his traffic hits. Would be interesting.

I have a free stat counter on my site, and one of the handy things it does is log the IP and location of all visitors. It also tells you which page they were on that linked to my blog - that way I can trace back to see where I'm being talked about.

There's Google Analytics as well, which is really easy to install and has the additional advantage on other stat counters of telling you the search terms that got people to you.

Apparently we have some sort of stat counter.  Now we just need to get Tom to show us the stats...
