The Creature Design Contest closed a couple of days ago and I've spent a fair bit of time pulling together all the different ideas and showing how I think they would fit into the world of Anyaral. I've only done quick sketches I'm afraid, and I've chosen a little bit of text summing up what I thought was important from the descriptions. It is certainly worth browsing all the original entries to see the various drawings and extra information that everybody came up with! For a few of the entries I have had to do a sketch from the descriptions, or make up a name, or in some cases taken great liberties with the original text so I hope nobody takes offence if it doesn't seem quite how you originally imagined your creature...

Now I'm handing it over to you. Which ideas do you like best? Have a look at my take on all of them as well as the original entries and see what you like. You've got two votes each and 7 days in which to vote. Whoever gets the most votes will win the public vote prize. I'll then make my mind up which one I like best (I'm indecisive at the best of times) and the creative mind behind that one will get a prize as well.

Do post any thoughts, critiques, questions and suggestions here!

Mike

Traman and Teera and Kyatu

Ghaar and Oreg

Pree-Pree and Narvrak

Bergilii and Kerishak

Eavu and Akarri

Arisianii and Sgru'bu

Shirru, Toadear and Bhahu

Yes, I really struggled.  They are all so cool!  Mike, you are going to have a lot of sculpting to do at some point.

I've mentioned it on various forums, but feel free to pimp elsewhere!
So, what has everybody been voting for, and why?

I have to say, your drawing of the Oreg looks really freeking AWESOME.  Grin

Looks like the Traman/Teera and the Akarii are in the lead so far... but yeah, all of these are brilliant.

Glad you like it Smiley
I actually had quite a lot of fun interpreting your entries - lots of ideas and guidance but plenty of room to have a play with the visual aspects. I wanted to do  more with the Kyatu to emphasise their small size but ran out of time.

Very tough choices, but looking forward to seeing which two come out on top.

They all look very nice, I really enjoyed the redrawing of all the creatures and their short re-writes.

Another question, what about how these entries become canon or not? Will only the winning entries be considered canonical, or all of them, or will Mike go through some sort of selection procedure?
