OK so the last of the current kits I need to complete is the easiest - the Stockade Wall that will join the Benan Watchtowers together.

I've modeled all of this in sketchup now accurately so that it mates to the watchtower and such like.

But a bit of quick calculation says this simply will NOT fit on a single A4 sheet. The slab sides take up far too much of the kit. So the decision is made. The kit WILL be made with 5mm foam board sides, and then with around an A5 styrene sheet of detail parts to hold them together.

That's a bit of a bugger cos foam board really doesn't like styrene cement and needs to be PVA coated before spray painting etc. But it should help to keep costs down.

I am not going to sell the foam board pre-cut. I shall include a template in the kit which you can stick to the foam board and then cut out along the lines.

The good news - I think I can do the 150mm long wall sections for £4 per kit (not including foam board and magnets) I'm keen to get this as low as possible, as it's an item you need many of if you want to build a stockade fort.

The Bad news - I have to remodel parts of the wall to accomodate the thicker 5mm foam board sides rather than the 1mm styrene.

This seems never ending !

Oh - but i need your help - i need a suitably pun-worthy name for the stockade walls.... suggestions?

Fom-bor?

yeah i had toyed with the term "Phomb-Ord" in another thread i think.

I was also considering "Bur-Lyn Wall"

Or the "Great Wall of Chy-Nah"

OR "Hayd-Reann's Wall"

Hmm, thought Fom-bor looked a bit familiar this morning, lol.

How about Jer'koh, Way-Ling. Or the great walls of Deanna? (Sorry - star trek reference, I'll get me coat, lol).

Mind you, if it was built by the fubarnii-equivalent of cowboy builders, it could be the great wall of toobi-for!!  Cheesy

How about a tolkein reference, lol: the Di-Ping wall?

Ok, think I'm out of ideas now!

That's looking very impressive!
Is the roof done as flat plates? Quite hard to see on the photo.
Jules was having fun assembling stair railings last night...

Brandlin, you should offer a free kit to whoever makes the first hexagon fortress - way to guarantee sales!
