This might sound odd, but do you kow what I like best about these sculpts Klute?

Its the real feeling of weight the stone in the sling has. The way the sling hangs has a real feeling of mass. Smiley

Yes, I know i'm weird, but its one of those things that makes it seem real and therefore makes the suspension of disbelief that I am looking at a hoofed beaked creature easier.

Not odd at all. I often think I have some kind of OCD when trying to make sure everything is as plausable as possible. I know there comes a point where my persuit of perfection hits the brick wall that is my sculpting ability but hopefully Ive done a decent enough job by then.  Grin

You know what I love about them? The black eyeshadow. I don't think I ever mentioned it on the FoD, so it must be a coincidence, but being quite night-adapted, the Fubarnii very often find sunlight uncomfortably bright, and when going out in the day often wear eyeshades, tinted goggles, or lots of dark eyeshadow (to decrease the sunlight reflecting in from their cheeks).

They are missing their trouser-laces, though. How do they take their pants off? Wink

The trousers have added Gumbala ( a fibrous substance from the Gumba Gumba tree ) which has elastic properties. This allows the trousers to be removed over the large Fubarnii feet without trouble.

The idea of adding Gumbala to cloth was stumbled upon after an old engineer by the name of Sadpex'n had a slight run in with a couple of jenta firing pebbles from thier slingshots at his door. Old Sadpex'n confiscated the "weapons", took them apart and placed them on the windowsill. While he rested the wind got up and blew the Gumbala fibres right into a basket containing the materials for a pair of trousers he was about to make.

I reckon you can guess the rest........

I just expect more laments that Mike created a non-mammalian race, with no boobies...

I love the soft colours and mottling effect on the skin.. it makes them look very organic. I'm also going to second a love of the dark eyes, it gives them a slightly less human look than pupilled eyes but also makes them wierdly cute (I think it's because the eyes end up looking bigger).

I'd love to know which paints you used here.

Paints were whichever looked most suitable out of the ones that were still useable.  Grin

The skin I believe was based around Catchacan Green (sp?not sure). Basically stick to earthy colours. Dont add white to the mix for highlighting, use bleached bone or similar. Same for shading. Try not to use black.
