Lets say I were to sculpt a nest of Devanu eggs.

What size would the eggs be roughly ? I mean for sculpting purposes of course. 5mm, 8mm etc etc.
How many eggs would be in a nest roughly ?
What size and shape would the nest be and what would it be made of ?

Good question. Have you read the recent birth thread yet? The eggs are probably 8 or so inches across, but they are laid as a globby mess that then hardens on contact with air. That globby mass is secreted into a crude structure that has been prepared by weaving a few sticks around a branch (often using the fork in a branch to provide support). In areas where the Devanu don't have a stable and safe nest, the eggs are secreted onto sturdy sticks that can be moved around and are stuck into the ground or supported in a tree at the Devanu's nest site.

To sculpt Devanu eggs for a game I would probably go for a strong stick like structure with a globulous egg supported part of the way up, perhaps with some cut off branches around it giving extra support. You could probably sculpt the egg as something like 4-5mm across. I could imagine a Devanu camp with a few of these around the place if they haven't been able to find a suitable nest tree.

One egg per 'basket'. Probably worth sketching out your thoughts (2d or 3d) before getting too far!

I like the look of the single branch stabbed into the ground. Having difficulty imagining Devanu climbing trees to lay the eggs.

A typical Devanu nest-tree would be much squatter and gnarlier. I'll try to draw one at some point.
The general idea looks about right though. The eggs would be more smeared into the basket type structure, rather than being a solid egg layed into the basket - the eggs are viscous and will stay together as a mass, but they initially deform to fill the shape they are placed in. Devanu eggs are also very sticky initially and would cling to a branch even with minimal support.
Nice post processing on the pics - makes them very atmospheric!

Gah do you expect me to read all the fluff ??  Grin

PS  post prcessing is actually pre processing. Just a parchment texture pulled from tinternet used as the background layer. Drawing is done on layers above that.

Devanu eggs would make a great objective for scenarios - probably the only way a furbani is ever going to kill a devanu on its own!

So that was sketched on the computer rather than being scanned? For some reason my tablet doesn't seem to be pressure sensitive, even though it should be, so I find it very difficult to do that sort of sketching!

Alias Sketch book pro is what I use for these with a pretty old Wacom volito 2 A6 tablet. Some of the older tablets need a bit magic worked on them with windows 7 to get them working right. I did a lot of googling to get mine working on W7. Was worth it though.
Still got to get the drawing setting right to sketch like I have. I use a mid grey pencil which is pretty transparent until you get a few strokes down. Its pretty forgiving when rough sketching.

You need to install drivers; they transform the equipment.

I tried that, but it didn't work out and even with them installed it doesn't seem to have any pressure sensitivity. I've not had chance to have another play since then...

Might just be updated drivers for your operating system. What tablet and OS do you use?
