thanks for the encouraging feedback by folks.  Wink  I finally finished the trade caravan starter set. my hope for the rest of March is to add a belan, an armed escort, and some travelling civilians to make it a fully fleshed road crew.... and a force of Devanu stalking them.   Grin

my club locally is having a mini games day at the end of the month so I'm hoping to get these all set by then. we seem to be done with the crazy snow for the year so there's a fair chance I might make it. even if I don't complete enough models to actually have proper demos, i'll still bring in what I have so folks can get a look at the game and have some better photos taken with the club camera and terrain.

Such a colourful and varied force, that still looks cohesive. Very nicely done. Pleased to hear the worst of the weather is past you and looking forward to the increased productivity it may bring - more like this can only be a god thing!  Grin

I finished a few travelers to go with my caravan, though I am running a shade behind schedule this month as I got half way done with the Belan and decided I didn't like the paint scheme and stripped off the paint. this week I will start the knights and militia. the Belan may get bumped until next month alas, as next week is the Devanu......

I only have the one picture as the others I took were very fuzzy and not worth posting. at the end of the month i'll retake some better shots with an actual camera.

Very good looking group! Danakin immediately stands out with his more colourful clothing.
I like the way you play with colours, while still retaining a natural look, never overdoing it.
Great work!

thanks for your good words.  Smiley   I think these models are great for having varied color schemes as they're not part of a military structure so you get to stretch a bit with experimenting away from doing a lot of uniform painting. as Danakin and Muri are unique characters I tried to stick to the color scheme pictured on their card..... though I did need to deviate on the walking sticks as  I didn't have any non-silver metallic paint.

Great little additions to your travelling company. Danakin and Muri look superb - haven't even had a chance to look at mine yet, great inspiration for a bright result there.

so finally my caravan gets a little protection.  I wanted the militia to be more colorful than the Delgon or Devanu, but less vibrant than the civilians of the caravan so I went with a hard leather look for the armor. I also gave them a little bit of rock and scrub on the base to lend a more hearty flavor for the warriors.

between now and Saturday morning I've got to finish up the Devanu and one Graku for my club's game day. I won't have a chance to finish the Belan or the knights before then as I got a little carried away with making some cool extras for the demo.

Coming along nicely!
I do have to ask, what are the cool extras for the demo?

The armour looks like leather or a carapace which I like a lot, well done.

for the demo this Saturday I made some kit boxes to contain all of the faction specific bits and bobs. as the forces I have ready to go (at least for a demo  Wink  ), are the Devanu and Empire, I painted their combat stones and got matching 'stone cups' that I lined with soft cloth to reduce the chance of knicks and chips... though I did use 2 coats of varnish on the stones. and I put together a few reference booklets and  cards for folks to take that have the Twilight logo and facebook/website listings. lastly, I made some faction specific tokens to use as stamina counters. so that  ended up burning a bit of my paint time and the knights didn't make the cut this month. but I may still be able to squeeze in the Belan, but not until after the demo day.

Sounds good!
Make sure you take some photos of all the stuff, as well as on the day itself!  Smiley

well, I got a few pictures of my Devanu that I finished, but mostly of the Jenta spear. we had our demo day and it went well and many pictures were taken, but the person who took the pictures has inexplicably not emailed me the pictures. these pictures were taken using someone's phone and are significantly better than the ipad i normally use. i had initially thought i left the Jenta spear at home and so this guy missed out on the main picture taking. but a gentleman there was kind enough to take these with the phone......  as soon as i get the other pictures i'll get them posted.   Sad

i plan to darken the legs of the Grishak up a little bit after seeing them in a different light to give a little more contrast.

i wanted the figure to look like he was leaning out to make a mighty long range throw.

i left the additional spears off the back as i plan to have them laying on the open stretch of dirt on the base.
