I like it, it's nice and open. Don't listen to all these fuddy duddies
Thanks! I might look into putting a gentle dividing line, just to help discern different posts, but I mainly wanted to get rid of the default boxy look!
The problem is there is are dividing lines that the software already puts in but they are between the header and the top of the post body, and between the post body and the footer (signature) text. so it looks divided in the wrong places now. A 'gentle line would be good and not ruin your look.
Mind you the quote boxes are very grey and boxy aren't they

But please add in something so that when you post a message it directs you to the thread you just posted in and not back to the forum the thread is in
I ... I have no idea how to do that. I'll see if I can do it in the PHP code, but if it's written into the sourcecode, I'm afraid I'm not going to recompile my own version!

Progress will be slow, because I don't have any kind of phone to test it through! However, I've had a random hack at some CSS labelled "wireless", to hopefully remove the background. Let me know if it's made any difference!
Its not a priority - no discernable difference here. On opera mobile it doesn't seem to lay the lighter back ground over the dark one, it runs them consecutively down the page so scroll down miles just to get to the logo, then scroll down more to get to the body of the page.

WAP/phone access

I can't replicate the problem, because the closest I can get to your system is the Opera Mobile 10 emulator, and that renders perfectly well. You could try updating your browser, or, failing that, try
http://www.worldoftwilight.com/forum/index.php?wap2
or
http://www.worldoftwilight.com/forum/index.php?imode
or
http://www.worldoftwilight.com/forum/index.php?iphone
The WAP2 version, in particular, will remove all the prettiness, and probably make it MUCH faster. Other phone-users might want to bookmark it too, either for speed or for reducing the bandwidth charges!

The gentle dividing line proved slightly difficult. What do you think of my shaded-box solution?
If it's not popular, I might end up hacking the PHP to put an extra little "box" between the posts, so I can have a nice pencil-drawn dividing line in there

that shading looks great to me... nice and subtle... works on the quote boxes too - good job!

Bethar suggested I make it brown rather than grey, and I think it's much better like this. What does everyone reckon?

Um. That might have been my fault. Or both Tom and I fixed it independently... I'll have a look!

yup, my fault! I've put it back as it was now
I should have mentioned earlier that I like how the colour variations works on the screen! I've been stuck to viewing via my phone for the last few days so I've only just got to see it in all its improved glory
