Voting closed on the public vote earlier this week, and now it is just down to me to announce which creature wins my vote! I've got to say that it's been really difficult for me to choose a favourite, but I can't keep putting it off!
First up, a few of the creatures that really caught my attention...
Jubal's Oreg and Kyatu - these two creatures slotted nicely into the background and just added a little bit more depth, which I really liked! I also had fun drawing the Oreg
Beth's short description of the Pree Pree really caught my imagination, and I'm looking forward to having a go at sculpting a rich trader with his pet pree pree.
The Sgru'bu and Eavu also have fun little stories that I particularly liked. All the other entries had aspects that I enjoyed, and all of them can fit somehow!
My favourite really came down to a choice of two though. Andrew May's Ghaar is a fantastic creation that is really well thought out and fits perfectly into the world. Well drawn as well! The other is Artman's Traman and Teera which is somewhat crazier, but just takes a fun concept and runs with it - the picture also works to emphasize the characterful nature of the beast. Both creatures had a nice little back stories for how they interact with the other denizens of Anyaral. Sadly I have to make a decision though...
So, without further ado...
- The winner of the public vote is Scalifano with his Akarri.
- The winner of the 'Mike's choice' prize is Artman for his Traman and Teera
- Honourable mentions go to Jubal, Beth and Andrew May.
The two main winners can have £15 of Twilight figures. For the honourable mentions I'm going to do a little bonus prize of the Mounted Trader that I released at Salute. He's not exactly limited edition, but he's never been on full release yet, and I'm not sure when he will be!
Congratulation to you all, and thank you to everybody who entered. I think it was a great first contest and I'm sure all the different creatures will find their way into Twilight in some form or other! There will be another contest soon, so feel free to suggest ideas...
