Voting closed on the public vote earlier this week, and now it is just down to me to announce which creature wins my vote! I've got to say that it's been really difficult for me to choose a favourite, but I can't keep putting it off!

First up, a few of the creatures that really caught my attention...
Jubal's Oreg and Kyatu - these two creatures slotted nicely into the background and just added a little bit more depth, which I really liked! I also had fun drawing the Oreg  Smiley
Beth's short description of the Pree Pree really caught my imagination, and I'm looking forward to having a go at sculpting a rich trader with his pet pree pree.
The Sgru'bu and Eavu also have fun little stories that I particularly liked. All the other entries had aspects that I enjoyed, and all of them can fit somehow!

My favourite really came down to a choice of two though. Andrew May's Ghaar is a fantastic creation that is really well thought out and fits perfectly into the world. Well drawn as well! The other is Artman's Traman and Teera which is somewhat crazier, but just takes a fun concept and runs with it - the picture also works to emphasize the characterful nature of the beast. Both creatures had a nice little back stories for how they interact with the other denizens of Anyaral. Sadly I have to make a decision though...

So, without further ado...
  • The winner of the public vote is Scalifano with his Akarri.
  • The winner of the 'Mike's choice' prize is Artman for his Traman and Teera
  • Honourable mentions go to Jubal, Beth and Andrew May.

The two main winners can have £15 of Twilight figures. For the honourable mentions I'm going to do a little bonus prize of the Mounted Trader that I released at Salute. He's not exactly limited edition, but he's never been on full release yet, and I'm not sure when he will be!

Congratulation to you all, and thank you to everybody who entered. I think it was a great first contest and I'm sure all the different creatures will find their way into Twilight in some form or other! There will be another contest soon, so feel free to suggest ideas...

Yay! I am now a very happy person.  Cheesy

Well done artman, too - the T&T were a very deserving winner there, fantastic idea.

I should have said - pm me your address if you are a winner and I'll send prizes out! Scalifano and Artman will also have to choose what stuff they would like...

Thanks Mike!  I will send you a PM.  Smiley

It's cool if the Akarri never become a miniature, but I would really like to see a huge Ghaar model (this is was my second vote btw).

Cool, I got a mounted trader!  He will go nicely with my stables kit.  Which I will start building any day now.
I think someone could design a nice scenario around the ghaar if it got sculpted.  Maybe a Devanu and Fubarnii hunting party both trying to go after it, but taking damage if they got too close without backup.

Thanks Mike, I had a lot of fun with the Traman and Teera. Good on you for striking out and creating something brand new. It's really cool, feels like a movie in the making. Well done to the other contestants too, (thanks for the nice comment Jubal Smiley). Mike, I'll PM you for the prize  Grin

The main thing was to have a bit of fun and share some ideas - and I think it was definitely successful. I'm now pondering what creatures to sculpt... The ghaar would be fun to sculpt and the artwork would be good to work from. I'm not sure how practical it would be to get cast though! At least the pree pree is small Smiley

Mike, I'm not sure the PM thing is working or not. Huh I sent you a couple but both times they failed to show up in my outbox - so I don't know if they went through or not. Let me know if you got anything.  Smiley

there is an option in your profile that toggles on/off whether your outgoing mail is saved in your outbox. it might just be that's off... I've used pm here with mike before without issues if that helps... he is quiet and busy at the moment though.

Sorry, that's just me being useless! I got your messages, and I've set the models aside for you (and all the other comp winners). I just need to get to the post office to sort out the international ones (I knew I should have checked where you lived before choosing you as the winner...  Wink ).

All the other prizes have gone in the post now, although a few of them have quite a distance to travel...

Wow mike, the figures came already! Thanks again for running this contest.

I read a lot of posts about the UK post being bad, but that was barely 3 days to arrive to the US. Awesome!
