nice step-by-step layout.    how long did you leave the rubber bands on the cardboard wrap-around? I've seen folks use rubber bands before like this but I have not tried it myself.

Hi all ! And sorry for the long delay without news.

I let them 24 hours, but normally the glue is entirely dried after 4.

The scenery progress slowly, but surely. Cutting the shingles is such a bore !

Amazing work on the shingles, they may be a bore but the extra effort also makes the building look more realistic.
I also like the setup with the goods, a bit like the meeting place of two traders.

I used Brandlin's templates, available on his site.
Paste on cardboard and then cut. Effective, but long !

The tower in current state: looks not like a pringles box anymore, but still many work to do !

I still have a (half) roof to do, but i'm on the good way !

But here is what i've done today:

Texturing the adjacent building:


Cutting windows borders:


Carving the paving stones on the terrace:


After that i press randomly a little rock to texture the depron on surface.

And the result of the work of the day:



It begins to look like what i had in mind at the beginning of the project

Sadly the progress is not as fast as i would, so i'm pretty sure it'll be not painted for the 24th august. Probably finished to built, but not painted :/

even if you don't finish for the competition, the tutorial you've provided is still a first rate effort. I enjoy seeing the different ways you construct parts for the tower.

keepup the lovely detailed work, and don't forget,  worst part is done damn shingles. ..

It's fun watching this one take shape! The sandpaper cladding still scares me, but it looks like it is going to be great once it's finished (even if it is a little late...).
