Following on from Captain Danomar yesterday I thought I would share another beastie today. The Erillai are commonly found throughout the southern empire and down into the Casani territories. They live in vast herds (flocks?) and are often seen among the great migrations. There are two poses for this model, but Ben has only painted this one so far. The other one is almost a precise reflection. I had a slight issue with the first casting of the second model as the raised left leg twisted in the mould. It's nothing you couldn't fix with a pair of pliers, but it means I'll have some miscasts at salute that I haven't quite figured out what to do with yet!

Very Nice, although I imagined brighter colours for them.

I always thought of them as big gazelles, so Ben has painted them just how I thought they should look! I hadn't considered brighter colours, but that would be fun to see.

Great mini & paint job! I like the subdued natural colors- seems right for a creature that fits the niche a gazelle does in our world.

I think some deep red would work on the crest though - I can see it being a signalling feature for males in mating season...

Any chance of a Furbani jenta riding one of these as a high speed messenger? Or is that innapropriate with the background? Can just imagine them speeding across the plains with important communications, leaving pursuing devanu in their dust...

That's another image I like the sound of. I'm planning to mount a feral fubarnii on the back at some point, but I do like the messenger idea...

Sounds like a cool high-speed chase scenario to me.

Im always confused by pronounciation how is this creature's name pronounced ?. I found it helps to break it down into sylables in brackets ( ) as I normally get it wrong. I'v only just started calling the cheif ( co-pah) instead of (Cop- a ) .

That is the problem with made up words, particularly when a certain someone can be a tad whimsical with his spelling (eh-rill-eye) Following on from your request I've started a new thread on pronunciation here.

My Erillai has ended up with a distinctive reddish-brown colour and ochre yellow spots...
