He looks great! Scale might be slightly off, but it is instantly recognisable, so you should be proud of yourself

How much bigger do you think he should've been? And does anyone have any other feedback/advice?

He's your creature, so you are the best judge of scale! Does he feel the right size to you? He's relatively small at the moment, so possibly not that threatening physically. Big enough though.
Excellent first shot at a sculpt. He's a little bit blobby in places, particularly on the spines (always a challenge to get spines sharp! Maybe try a different putty (brown stuff or milliput), or sculpt the spines separately then stick them in place). That doesn't detract too much though.

Excellent first shot at a sculpt.
I thought the same thing when I saw the pic. I knew what it was right away, so the 1st sculpt was very successful. I had imagined the Oreg a bit bigger. Originally I had imagined they might be about the size of a Dungeons and Dragons Bullete.
But a smaller model might actually make more sense as the Fubarnii might have an easier time controlling them for the fights.
If you have a patience for it, you should try to sculpt the oreg in three different sizes and see which works for you. It might take a lot of work to do, but it would definitely make for good practice.

Either that or blow a pic of it up to a few different sizes and compare to a Fubarnii for scale.

I wish it were my art.
My drawing skills are severely in need of practice. But my internet search-fu is pretty decent.

I've retouched and varnished Gehran College's militia and traders now... it might be a while before Rakka gets the same treatment, but here are my rather inexpert attempts (I did basing as well this time). They're not on the standard of many of the painters here of course, but here we are:
My first basing attempt was the Graku, who's a nice lil' chap. I decided he looked like he might enjoy sun-basking on some limestone pavement or rocks or some sort;
Then Gehran college's main forces. Olanore is the hunched figure with the fancily modded staff and the cloak. The engineer is just as standard with no conversions, as are the militia. I made tiled bases just by filling the scenic base with greenstuff then cutting tiles into it. The frontmost militia with the shiny stuff is the captain (the silvery guy in the background is his second in command, for fluff purposes). A short of all of them, then just the militia formed up in a neat triangle to receive unwelcome guests...
And finally the traders. I was prolly most pleased with these guys, I like the paint scheme on the Baruk (it's inexpertly applied, but so's everything here). I again filled the bases with greenstuff, messed it up a bit, made a few low-lying leaves and moss, then added the foliagey type stuff and some small rocks. It begs the question of why the college's animals conform to the college colour scheme, but given the wealth and age of the college I can just imagine hunting down breeds to match their chosen colour to be just the sort of thing they'd do.

Good work Jubal. I really like that your forces have a story behind them that ties in with the colour scheme.
I always think that one of the most important aspects of painting is to unify the force with colour, making them look like they belong together; something you have done well. The paint does look a little thick, perhaps try watering it down slightly. A grand force overall and am loving the GS bases.

Current plan is to get Rakka done and based over Christmas, then maybe start on either militia unit #3 (the only other college to field a decent size militia is Terarl, I'm not going to do all seven or eight of 'em with large militias, the rest will be specialists and character models) or possibly do Iual as a Belan/Baruk topped conversion, or make some Engineer conversions. Or possibly the idea for a "mayor's guard" of Dhogu, gurkha-styley, which would be fun to do. So much choice. And so little time, as my lack of activity indicates...

The one thing I can always be sure of about superglue; the thing it will stick to least will always be what I want to glue together, and the thing it will always bind to instantly will be my hands..

Exactly what it was originally designed to do, from the Vietnam war I believe.

I am Intruiged by the possibility of seeing Gurkha style Delgon...
